Sally Macarthur ClydeSally Macarthur Clyde became a Partner in 2000 and heads up our Property, Wills and Deceased Estates Department at Saines Lucas Solicitors in Ballarat. In a career spanning over 25 years, Sally has practised in a number of different areas of law with legal firms in Melbourne, the Goulburn Valley and Ballarat. Moving with her family to Ballarat to join our firm in 1994, Sally has practised primarily in the sale and purchase of land, sub-divisions, consolidation of titles, leases, mortgages, town planning, various Titles Office applications including adverse possession claims, conversion of old General Law titles to Torrens titles, lost title applications and section 173 agreements, preparation of Wills, managing Will dispute litigation, Probate and Letters of Administration applications to the Supreme Court Probates Office, general administration of deceased estates, Enduring Powers of Attorney (both Financial and Medical), applications to VCAT in Guardianship and Administration matters and general litigation in relation to property law, Wills and deceased estate matters. Marriage to a farmer drew Sally to the Goulburn Valley where she practised for several years as a Solicitor whilst raising a family with her husband. Sally, appreciates first-hand, the challenges faced by farming families in small, isolated rural communities. As an active community volunteer, Sally has served on various Hospital, Church, Kindergarten and School Boards. As legal Advocate to the Anglican Church in Ballarat, Sally has found herself practising in the rarefied area of Ecclesiastical Law which she finds both challenging and fascinating. Sally is particularly concerned with ensuring that the elderly in the community are not marginalised. In another life, Sally was an Officer in the Army Reserves and is a qualified ballet teacher who, when time allows, enjoys an involvement in a variety of performing arts and singing in choral ensembles.
