KATALINA TOTH

Kat is a commercial and civil litigation solicitor at our firm working in the areas of building disputes, personal injury law, planning and environment law, contract law, intellectual property law, corporation's law, property law, employment law and human rights law.

Kat made the move to the Ballarat region during the last leg of her law degree. She was born and bred in Melbourne but later chose to enjoy the good life in rural Victoria. She graduated law with first class honours and during the course of her degree she combined legal research work at the Bar with full time study.

During her studies, Kat also competed in mooting competitions both domestically and internationally. She was a semi-finalist in the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna in 2008, where she was up against 204 universities from around the world. Kat is very competitive by nature and in her younger days participated in various sports including basketball and State League Netball but retired early due to injury. She enjoys surfing with her three Labradors during the warmer months and invests considerable time and money in her hobby of gardening. Kat's idea of relaxation involves spending time with her husband, family, friends and Labradors driving around the country side exploring townships and landscapes and enjoying fine food and wine. She is proudly married to a barrister who was formerly an English Bobby, Sales Executive, Business owner and Pilot and this provides for interesting dinner time conversations.

In her previous career, Kat was a Cadet Environmental Health Officer for Local Government and holds a Bachelor Degree in Health Science, Public and Environmental Health. Kat has achieved several academic awards in both her Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Law degrees.

Kat also speaks Hungarian and has lived in Budapest for 12 months and was immersed in the music industry during that period, traveling around Hungary and surrounding countries. She has also had experience working in the retail and fashion industries and has been to China to do presentations to law schools and government agencies.
